Abbas I of Persia was born in 1571 and became one of the most powerful rulers of the
Safavid dynasty. He came to the throne in 1588 during a difficult time when Iran faced internal conflict and foreign threats from the
Ottoman Empire and the
Uzbek Khanate. Shah Abbas reorganized the army, reduced the power of rival groups, and strengthened the central government. He also moved the capital to
Isfahan, turning it into a major center of art, architecture, and trade. During his reign, Iran experienced a period of political stability, economic growth, and cultural development, which is why he is often remembered as one of the greatest rulers in Iranian history.
