Among the regal symbols of ancient Egypt, the Crook and Flail held unique importance. Always shown together, they represented two aspects of kingship. The crook symbolized the ruler’s responsibility to guide and care for the people, much like a shepherd protects his flock. The flail, on the other hand, signified authority and the strength required to maintain order. These two items appear in various royal statues and are most famously crossed over the chest of Tutankhamun’s golden coffin.2025 © ShinyBerry.com
