

During those years, dental care in Iran was almost nonexistent. Across the entire country, there were only three dentists, all of whom had previously served the Qajar court. Despite these challenging circumstances, Teymourtash did not give up. At thirty-two, she entered Tehran University, where her perseverance and scholarly achievements earned her the position of associate professor at the Faculty of Medicine. Realizing the urgent need for specialized dental education, she founded the first Dental School of Iran in Mashhad—a historic milestone for both Iranian medicine and women’s leadership.
