

Initially, Teymourtash planned to dedicate her career to humanitarian service in Africa, particularly in the Congo, where she wanted to work in dental health for underprivileged communities. However, her family’s insistence led her to return to Iran at the age of twenty-six. Shortly after her return, due to her brother’s political downfall and exile by Reza Shah, she and her mother were sent to live in Kashmar, far from the academic and medical centers where she could have easily advanced her career.
