Badri Teymourtash, often celebrated as the mother of dentistry in Iran, was a pioneering figure whose vision and determination reshaped the landscape of dental education and oral health in her country. Her life was marked by both personal sacrifice and professional triumph. On October 9, 1995 (17 Mehr 1374 in the Iranian calendar), she passed away in Mashhad, leaving behind a legacy that continues to inspire women and medical professionals alike. Seeing the poor state of dental hygiene in Mashhad, she once vowed, “I will make this place like Belgium,” a reflection of her ambitious and reform-minded spirit.
