A Nation Divided in Mourning and Celebration

In parts of northern Tehran and in some diaspora communities abroad, scenes of celebration appear. Fireworks light up the night sky in isolated instances. Young people wave pre-revolutionary flags and chant slogans calling for freedom and reform. For them, the moment represents the possible end of an era they associate with restriction and economic hardship.
