Omid Farokhzad: From Tehran to the Edge of Nanomedicine

In addition to cancer therapy, Farokhzad and his colleagues explored applications of nanotechnology in cardiovascular disease. They investigated biodegradable nanostructures capable of targeting atherosclerotic plaques, with the long-term goal of preventing heart attacks and strokes before they occur. Although these technologies remain under evaluation, they represent a bold vision for preventive medicine that relies on early molecular intervention.
