Each year, an estimated 107,000 new cases of colorectal cancer are expected to be diagnosed, with nearly 53,000 deaths anticipated. This form of cancer is currently the second leading cause of cancer-related deaths in the United States. Experts predict that by 2030, it may become the leading cause of cancer death among younger adults if current trends continue. Despite advances in screening methods and treatments, the survival rate remains heavily dependent on how early the disease is detected. Unfortunately, most people are not diagnosed until the cancer has already spread beyond the colon.
