When Does Faith Become a Performance?

The act of presenting an inauthentic self is a betrayal of both oneself and others. The individual is so afraid of being seen for who they truly are that they create a mask to hide behind. This fear of vulnerability makes true intimacy and genuine connection impossible, as they are never truly present in the relationship. They are always performing, and this makes them emotionally and morally unavailable.
